Sessions

1. How Does God Define Marriage?

Explore the biblical foundation of marriage as a divine covenant established by God at creation. This session walks through key Scriptures that reveal marriage as more than a human institution—it’s a picture of Christ and the Church. Students will gain a deep understanding of God’s intention for unity, purpose, and companionship between a man and a woman. It’s the starting point for every other biblical insight about relationships and family.

2. Marriage Built on Biblical Principles

This session unpacks essential values like mutual submission, servant leadership, spiritual headship, and love in action. Through practical teaching and biblical examples, students learn how to build a marriage that endures trials and glorifies God. Stacy E. Cline addresses how husbands and wives can support one another spiritually and emotionally. These principles form the framework of a healthy and lasting biblical marriage.

3. Preparing for Marriage (Part 1)

Preparation for marriage goes far beyond romance—it requires spiritual readiness, emotional maturity, and a surrendered heart. This lesson encourages students to examine their personal walk with God, their identity in Christ, and their ability to commit. Through Scripture and personal reflection, learners are challenged to build a foundation that will support the weight of lifelong covenant. It’s a vital session for singles and those engaged in premarital ministry.

4. Preparing for Marriage (Part 2)

Building on the previous lesson, this session offers hands-on guidance for navigating relationships with wisdom and integrity. Topics include discernment in dating, recognizing red flags, involving trusted counsel, and setting clear expectations. Students also learn how to honor God throughout courtship and engagement. The goal is to help learners make Spirit-led decisions that lead to strong, biblical marriage.

5. Walking in Love (Part 1)

What does it mean to truly walk in love within marriage? This session explores agape love—the sacrificial, unchanging love that reflects God’s nature. Students will examine 1 Corinthians 13 through the lens of real-life marriage, learning how to practice patience, humility, and forgiveness even in moments of stress or hurt. It’s an honest and encouraging look at how love grows over time.

6. Walking in Love (Part 2)

Continuing the theme of love in action, this lesson focuses on grace in daily interactions—how spouses can bear with one another in weakness and still grow closer. Cline offers both biblical encouragement and practical tools for staying emotionally connected and spiritually aligned. The teaching emphasizes that love is not just maintained in grand gestures but lived out in small, consistent ways. These patterns shape the heart of a biblical marriage.

7. The Power to Influence

Marriage creates powerful spiritual influence—both partners can shape each other’s walk with Christ, for better or worse. This session helps students understand their God-given authority and responsibility within marriage. Stacy E. Cline explores how words, attitudes, prayer, and example can all be tools of encouragement and spiritual leadership. It’s a challenging but empowering message about the role each spouse plays in spiritual growth.

8. Sexuality (Part 1)

This lesson introduces a biblical view of sexuality, countering cultural distortions with God’s original design for intimacy within marriage. Cline addresses the beauty, purpose, and boundaries of sexual expression, emphasizing that it is both physical and deeply spiritual. Students will explore the connection between purity, trust, and vulnerability. The goal is to reclaim sexuality as a sacred gift within the context of covenant.

9. Sexuality (Part 2)

Building on the previous session, this lesson speaks compassionately to those who have experienced brokenness, shame, or confusion regarding sexuality. It offers biblical hope and healing while reinforcing God’s call to holiness. Topics include communication in intimacy, mutual respect, and emotional connection. It’s both instructional and pastoral, making it especially valuable for married couples and ministry leaders alike.

10. Healthy Communication

Communication is one of the most vital aspects of any relationship—and one of the most common sources of conflict. This session offers biblical and practical guidance for speaking the truth in love, listening well, and resolving issues with wisdom. Students will learn how to avoid destructive patterns like sarcasm, stonewalling, or defensiveness, and instead pursue unity and peace. Strong communication is a pillar of every biblical marriage, and this session equips students to build it intentionally.
