Sessions

1. Introduction

Dr. Mark Virkler unveils the profound journey of learning to hear the voice of the Lord. With clarity drawn from the biblical blueprint, Virkler navigates through examples like Abraham and the Book of Revelation, emphasizing the scriptural foundation of people hearing God’s voice. He introduces the four essential keys to unlocking this Divine communication: stillness, vision, spontaneity, and journaling. Delving into the first key, stillness, Virkler underscores the need for a quiet space in God’s presence, citing biblical references and urging believers to dislodge any unbelief hindering the Holy Spirit’s movement. As the foundation for a Spirit-anointed lifestyle, these keys, when applied collectively, open the door to hearing the voice of God.

2. Four Keys to Hearing God

In Session 2, Dr. Mark Virkler highlights Vision as the first key to hearing God’s voice, drawing from Numbers 12:6 and 1 Chronicles 29:18. He emphasizes godly imagination aligning with the Word of God, its transformative impact on faith, and the distinction between graven and godly imagery. Virkler guides believers on becoming seers, adopting Jesus as a constant visionary example. Practical techniques for entering the Spirit are introduced, including clapping, lifting hands, closing eyes, and opening hearts. The session concludes with an invitation to receive new visions, urging openness to God’s witness and repentance for not presenting oneself as a living sacrifice.

3. Tuning to God’s Flow

In session 3, four keys to hearing God’s voice are emphasized. Operating in spontaneity helps discern godly, demonic, and analytical thoughts. The keys, found throughout the Bible, include quieting oneself, fixing eyes on Jesus, tuning to spontaneity, and writing. Spontaneity involves recognizing thoughts that align with the Holy Spirit and learning to distinguish them from demonic thoughts. Flowing in the Holy Spirit, akin to spontaneous thoughts, is explored using biblical references like John 7. Anointed reasoning involves guided thinking by the Holy Spirit, using pictures and avoiding pride. The session concludes with a call to meditate on God’s Word for deeper revelation.

4. Two-way Journaling

In Session 4, “Two-way Journaling,” the focus is on the crucial role of journaling as one of the keys to hearing God’s voice. Described as two-way communication with God, journaling involves both talking to and receiving messages from God. Emphasizing faith in recording these communications, the session highlights how journaling helps in avoiding the interference of human reasoning, aiding spiritual growth, and improving relationships. The importance of patience, obedience to God’s instructions received during journaling, and the distinction between Godly and demonic thoughts are also emphasized. The session encourages a balanced approach to different ways God communicates and suggests inner healing processes before engaging in journaling for effective spiritual connection.
