Most evangelical churches are active in soul-winning. Relatively few have ever dreamed of actually planting a new church as a viable method of soul-winning. Yet as we trace the evangelistic activities of the apostles in the Book of Acts, we see churches sprouting up wherever there was any significant success in evangelism.

The complete manual, prepared originally as the author’s doctoral thesis, cites the practical basis of church planting and describes the local church as both a ministry training center and church-planting center. It also includes a section on practical considerations in church planting, seven appendices packed with useful information, and a thorough bibliography.

James H. Feeney, Ph.D. After serving as an Air Force officer and an FAA radar Air Traffic Controller, Jim followed the Lord’s call into full-time ministry in 1975. For six years, he served as the Dean of Charismatic Bible College of Anchorage, AK. Jim has led two church plants, one in New York, where he pastored for nearly five years, and one in Oregon, where he pastored church 17 years before retiring in 2006 from full-time pastoral ministry. Jim lives in Oregon with his wife Linda.
