He is co-founder, along with Bill Hybels, of Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois, one of the largest churches in the USA. Christianity Today has called him “the man behind the megachurch.” He is also a best-selling author whose books include: Beyond Sex Roles, Christianity 101, Community 101, and The Liberated Gospel. He holds a Doctor of Theology from Boston University
